As embarrassing as it may be to watch large seminaked men pretending to hurt each other in real life, being a virtual large seminaked man and hitting your best friend over the head with a stepladder is always good for a laugh.
After the somewhat disappointing Just Bring It, WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth is clearly a proper next-gen wrestling game. For starters the graphics are miles better than before, with much more detailed and expressive wrestlers and some stunning-looking stadiums and character intros. Changes to the gameplay are subtler and largely of interest only to fans of the "real" thing. Suffice to say that all the wrestlers have even more moves, it’s now even easier to use nearby furniture to inflict pain, and the game includes such new sporting heroes as Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Rico Constantino, and (cough) Shirley Crabtree (that's Big Daddy to you and me). There are also big improvements to the career mode, which now features Hell in a Cage matches and greatly extended backstage interviews and confrontations. There are now multiple routes to claiming each of the championship belts as well, adding to the replay value.
Even though it wasn't finished when we played it, Shut Your Mouth is already looking a lot better than Just Bring It, so if you’re a fan, or just someone that enjoys stamping on people’s heads, this is the game for you. --David Jenkins

This is one of the best games ive ever played. Although, you cannot be Rey Mysterio it's still worth buying right away. There are several modes and the wrestling is realistic and the finishing moves are awsome. My favorite part of the game is the crowd chanting YOU SUCK when Kurt Angle walks down the ramp.
Overall, GET THIS GAME RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!

The World Wrestling Entertainment has really gone the distance this time. We've all seen WWF Wrestlemania 2000 for the Nintendo 64; cheesey animation. WWF No Mercy; little better storylines, but still very cheesey animation. WWF Smackdown 1 for PSX; good, but poor excuse for story mode. WWF Smackdown 2 Know Your Role; basicly same as Smackdown 1. WWF Smackdown 3 Just Bring It; very good. Great animation, great storylines. And now...WWE SMACKDOWN 4 SHUT YOUR MOUTH!; on a scale from 1-10, in my personal opinion, it gets a 14! Truly a great game. From the animation, to the storylines. From the backstage areas, to the PPV sets, it is the best game produced by WWE.

Without a doubt, this may be the best wrestling game ever and just may be the best GAME ever. The season is the coolest and has all sorts of scenarios. I have played with numerous characters and its different everytime. The best part is the entrances, and although loyalists will find that some of the entrances are not up to date(Matt Hardy Version 1), its still as close as you can get. There are more matches and options in this game and I am impressed and that is no small task.

This is the best game ever!I have played WWF Just Bring It before but this is way better!It has almost every wrestler that is on t.v.Better graphics than any other wrestling game I've played.I hardly ever play anything else besides this.Season mode is just like on t.v. also.There are hardcore matches,ladder matches,cage matches,TLC matches and any other matches you can think of.If you are a fan of wrestling,or liked WWF just bring it,you will love this game!

Hi First let me give a rating for this game 95/100.It futures all the new wrestlers including Booker t,Regal and Storm,The next big thing Brock Lesnar,Rob Van Dam,The poison of nwo,the icon ric flair,the heart break kid and Hollywood hulk Hogan.The match stipulations are great.There are from single matches to 6 man tag,from table matches to ladder match to tlc,from cage matches to hell in a cell,from hardcore to slobber knocker to street fight and a new one wich is double referees in single,tag or iron man matches.And the last stipulation is lumberjack.There is royal rumble match and every 15 seconds a superstar enters the ring altought this game can include maximum 6 men in the ring at the same time.And i forgot to mention there is also a 2 out of three falls wich is called 3 stages of hell in this game.To win the wwe title u have to play in the seoson mode wich takes a really long time.The entrances are very well made.The fireworks are awesome and the wrestlers are almost the same looking as they are in real life.Its the first time where you can put wrestlers in draft pools.The create a superstar mode is magnificent.Their are thousands of moves from the frog splash to the hogan leg drop,from the figure four to the walls of jericho.
And i played this game for a total of almost 12 hours in 24 hours!...
What more can i say.Buy this video game and youll think ur on tv.

this is one of the best games in the world every one will like it.And if u r a wrestling fan u will love it. It has 60 characters to play with and 14 ppv arena's there r new moves the story mode is much detailed and much longer. this game deserves a 10 out of 10 rating...

i really would give the game 4.5 stars, so i rounded up (whatever). this game is great, at first i wasn't feeling it because i thought it was really hard, i was in exhibition mode and that was rather whack. then i said lemme' try the season mode and i did. the best mode of play by far. you can do sooo much stuff and it is just like watching SMACKDOWN or RAW, THE PREFERRED IS SMACKDOWN.
you are able to draft superstars, being mcmahon or flair, fight backstage, take one superstar all the way to the championship belt, have all the matches you want, switch back and forth from raw to smackdown and vice versa.
this game is just the best, however it has flaws like the superstars walk really [different] and when they talk to one another it is all captioned, the only thing that you can hear is the crowd and the entrance themes. oh! i find it difficult the tag my partner in during tag-team bouts i cannot figure out what to hit the instructions say one thing, but i tried it and i can't get it.
all and all, this game is fun but it is like any other games, it has flaws.
