Amazon.com: NBA Street is the best arcade basketball title available. Period. Why? No refs, no clocks, no fouls. Players will knock you over, and they practically live for blatant goaltending throughout the game. Realistic? No, but it's always fun--even if you hate basketball.
Street has two different game modes--City Circuit and Hold the Court--yet the differences here are minimal. Both feature three-on-three games of 21, in which you must assemble a squad composed of (initially) NBA players. Soon you'll play against street legends (read: bosses) that, once defeated, can be added to your team. Your ultimate goal is to defeat the biggest legend ever: Michael Jordan.
To survive the streets, you must learn which buttons to mash as you master specific stunts. This will add special points to your score and give you access to different ways to score. Though similar to NBA Jam and its sequels, Street is deeper, and sports a surprisingly developed finesse game.
NBA Street does commit some fouls, though, with its over-the-top, repetitive commentary and lack of play modes. However, even if you hate arcade-style basketball, you'll find Street differs from the pack, making it a solid MVP contender.

Off-the-backboard passes, nasty dunks, and a special momentum meter--which boosts your abilities as you humiliate the competition--let you know you're not playing arena ball. In fact, some of the courts are modeled after real-life basketball training grounds, such as New York's Rucker Park and the Cage. You'll see them all when you hit the road and take on the local crew. Perform well against them and you'll be able to recruit some special talent (did we say Mike?) to your team. Hold the Court mode will reward you with cool accessories, such as shoes and tattoos, by successfully defending the home court against challenging teams.

This game is very cool! It's a vey strategec game. The gameplay and the controls are good. The problem is that it gets a tiny bit boring, because when the opposing teamate is guarding you, you would try shooting for the basket and he will always block your shot. Overall, its really a cool game!

This is a game that people will play for a while. Even though defeating all of the teams is pretty boring, it's still a fun game that you can play for hours. This is a game that will definitely start a tournament anywhere. Don't take my word for it, rent it first & see what I mean

This games the best you can create players and once you beat one team it get harder you won't be able to stop playing this game I can't this game is awesome I have the game street hoops for Playstation2 NBA street beats the pants off of it there is no possible way there can be a better game than this i would reccomend it to anyone all of my friends have it I play this game all night sometimes on weekends my mom will walk in nine o clock in the morning and say turn the playstaion2 off your about to melt the game but its up to you your choice if you get it or not all i can do is give you my advice and my opinion so all those hard core gamers out there who thinks i must be a retard its just my opinion you buy what you want this is just my favorite game and i want to share that with everybody.

I've had this game for about two years and I'm still not tired of it. It's pretty easy to get started, and then to develop some skill, but to become a master it takes some work. Sometimes, on rainy days I sit for hours on the couch playing this game, thinking that only haalf an hour has gone by! I highly recomend this game to anyone at all, whether they like b-ball or not, because it's really a fun game.

NBA street is a quality game, one of the best in my ps2 collection. but... does anyone remember NFL blitz? how the game would kinda cheat when you started to win? thats what happens here sometimes. I'll be winning by like, 6 points and i only gotta score one mor to win. Then they go on a roll and score 4 twos in a row and win the game!! it stinks!! i get so mad when that happens, i put the game down and dont play it for like 3 days. But anyway, the replay value is good, and i love EA BIG. (ssx tricky is my fav game). So anyway, since its now one of the PS2 greatest hits it's definately worth a buy. peace-and happy gaming

everyone who is reading this has to buy this game! it is possibly the best basketball game ever made. the moves are straight off the streets with big league players. first the first 2 months i couldnt stop playing it. the graphics are awesome and the commentators is awesome. this game is definately worth getting even at 50 bux! now that its only 20 then its a must have
