Very shallow and lackluster, October 1, 2002

I like the idea of this game, King Arthur, Merlin, Gwenevere, Lancelot, etc... but there is something missing. It reminds me of a really horrible version of Ultima 7 (for the PC), with no depth or cool fx. To sum up, I cannot tell you any reason to even play this game. Big disappointment. Level 2 is almost impossible, and after several attempts you might ask WHY BOTHER???

This game is one of the best games I have ever played. And I played alot of games. It is fun if you like action adventure games that have fighting or other violence. I started playing and was hooked. After you get used to how to play it and figure out where to look for things it is more fun. But this was a short game for me to beat. The graghics are a bit less than I would expect for playstation2.

This game is an ok for the PS2. The graphics are not all that good and the CG's are pretty good too. Another thing I dont really like is that you have to switch your characters when fighting. That was pretty easy to get used to though. The characters are small it almost looks like PS graphics when fighting. The sound and the phrases of the characters start to get annoying after a while. Some levels it is fun to destroy the enemy and then some they just overwhelmed me and got very frustrating. The only thing I really liked was the story of the game. Where Arthur has to fight his evil sister to save england. That would proably be the only thing that saves this game. I would not say to buy this game, I would more likely say to rent it.

Thank God I rented it first................., August 12, 2002

What a disappointment! Being a huge fan of the Gauntlet series (also by Midway) and fan of the King Arthur stories, I was stoked to play this game. Something told me to rent it before buying and I am so happy I did. The play is elementary - pure and simple - no fun. The graphics are okay but the characters you are using are so tiny you can hardly make them out (and I play on a 32" TV)...

Well, what to say? I really liked this game. If I had to compare it to other games I would say it is like a combination of diablo and gauntlet legends. In some portions of the game it was repetitious to say the least and in some parts I got so mad I through my controller. But for the most part it was fun all the way around and it was just hard enough to keep me coming back for more after licking my wounds.

It is a great game with lots of potential. I enjoyed it. There are some missions a little harder than others. But all in all it has only taken me a few days to beat it. I would say borrow it or rent it. If you are overseas like me you really have no choice buy it or borrow it, no places to rent. Anyway, enjoy the game I did.

GREAT GAME WITH A MINOR FLAW, July 5, 2002

First off I love the Arthurian legend, so this game appealed to me before I started playing it. The graphics are nice, and the strategy in the game is very good. Mission 2 is hard at first, but when you finally master it it becomes much easier. I did get frustrated at first but as I played more, it did get better. It is relatively hard, so if you enjoy a bit of a challenge this game is for you. I like the way you control other characters and can command them to do things, but I wish a bigger party was possible and some characters are better off not being used at all so you need to re-use the same ones. The biggest flaw with this game is how it saves data. You do not get to choose where and when you save, the game autosaves and only works off of one slot. If you missed an item or anything else, you cant go back and are stuck once it saves. If they wanted to do an autosave, the should allow you to re-do missions. Because of the save feature, this game gets 4 stars out of 5.

I was very excited to see this game come out. I love King Arthur stories and pretty much anything to do with it. I was also happy to rent this game, but im just gonna come out and say it, it [stinks]. I has too much of a PC format which makes it odd for the normal Playstation 2 player and user. Also it has absolutely no direction. It gives you very vague directions and objectives. The worst thing is the fighting system. ...You have absolutely no idea were you are swinging and its very difficult to protect yourself.

Now for the few plus'. The movies [are great]. Even when you die theres an awesome movie, even if it is of you getting killed. The music is also excellent. To me, the best part is the storyline. Thats probably because im an King Arthur fan. Overall its 50% Good and 50% Bad. 3 Stars

THE GAME IS GOOD, A STRAIGHT 3 STAR GAME WITH DESENT GRAPHICS GOOD PLAY AND GREAT STORY LINE. But it is missing the ahhh, that a lot of playstation 2 games do have, because your this 1 inch character on the tv screen swinging a sword back and forth calling it a combo. Legion would make an awesome psx one game but not on ps2. So rent it but don't buy it

a game like no others, June 27, 2002

First of all, I was not sure if I was to give it 3 or 4 stars, But then, in my humble opinion, no game deserve a 5, and it is not the game of the year so... let say 3.5. This game have something that I can't describe. You play it and you say to yourself, why ... am i playing this game! Yet, on second thought, you realise that you can't stop... and that you like it. The fight are simple yet too hard, all you have to do is keep the rythm to do your combo but you can't make the...combo!!! Also, intelligent like you are, you split your team, Gwenevere will protect the town peoples while Arthur will go hunt some barbarians... Slashing time! Can't do the damn combo!! The town's being attacked! Switch to Gwenevere... oh no! no pause to give your orders, damn real-time games!.... I think you get the picture. You've been killed, and now you must restart the mission cause there's no in-game save... but you will start over. You'll not stop until you succeed this mission... then, you'll try the other... just to try it once... nooo... not once! You'll win this one too! Finally, I can't finish this review without saying that the movies are incredible! But beware, if you're a Flanders-like guy or girl, you'll be shocked, cause there's a lot of blood but, that's the way it was in the medieval time and, that's the way I like it!
