Amazon.com Product Description: The galaxy is in turmoil as the events of Star Wars: Episode II rapidly approach. Mace Windu dispatches one of the Council's top Jedi, Adi Gallia, to investigate disturbances in the Karthakk system caused by a secessionist movement that threatens to expand. Using the Republic's new prototype Jedi starfighter, Gallia sets out on missions that lead to events depicted in the Star Wars: Episode II film. She quickly gains an upper hand in space battles using her Force powers, but will these be enough to counter the massive fleet of the evil Captain Toth and a mysterious figure that threatens the very foundations of the Galactic Republic system?

You'll fly the new Jedi starfighter and get a look at characters and events from the film. The game contains single- and dual-player action in more than 20 story-based missions. Fly all missions cooperatively with a friend or in single-player mode in a variety of spacecraft. Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter features more than 40 new craft, including massive capital ships, three new flyable fighters, new enemy craft, and more.

Amazon.co.uk: Jedi Starfighter is the latest in that much abused of gaming genres, the Star Wars game. Jedi serves more as an extra set of missions than a full-blown follow-up to earlier games, but there are some new features and gameplay feels a lot smoother. The finest of these new additions are the Force weapons; when playing as the starfighter itself, you're able to utilize the Force to unleash mass devastation on your foes. The 15 missions alternate between control of this craft and a more robust ship well stocked with missiles; despite being based around a basic protect-and-shoot premise, the missions are nicely varied in style.

The controls are baffling at first but you'll soon be pulling off some outrageous maneuvers as you hunt down the enemy ships while issuing commands to your comrades. The graphics in these dogfights are fantastic, especially when using the zoom option, but larger ships tend to explode in a less-than-convincing fashion. The lack of recognizable characters, bar an appearance from Mace Windu and a Yoda voiceover, does detract, as does the lack of the classic Star Wars ships (the game is based indirectly on Episode II). This is partially made up for by an unlockable TIE fighter along with some new missions and some truly bizarre bonus material. While being a bit too similar to the previous game to warrant buying both, Jedi Starfighter is a very accomplished title that only suffers slightly from its repetitive nature. --Jonathan Winter

This such an awesome much beter than the first game [starwars starfighter] in this game you play as Nym{space pirate} and Adi Galia{jedi}. If you beat a few bonous levels you get bonous ships like the Republic Gunship, Slave 1, and the Saboth Fighter... This is a great game but it is to short. !!This one of the best starwars!!!

This game is one of the best starwars games that i have ever played. if you bet a few bonous objectives you can fly ships like theslave 1, Republic Gunship, X-wing, and Saboth fighter. This game is much better than starwars battle for nabbo, and starwars starfighter. the graphics are much better than starwars starfighter. and you get 4 secondary weapons.

Average graphics, slow gameplay, insanely shallow dialogue, and cheesy music. Need I say more?

Jedi Starfighter rocks! The graphics are really cool and the story is easy to follow. The Force powers are a little hard to get used to, but after you get the hang of it, it's pretty fun being able to blow up 20 ships with Force shockwave. The bonus features you can unlock are great to play. And you can unlock tons of stuff. Different ships, levels, and funny videos. You can play any of the levels two player if you want. (which rules!) The re-play-ability for this game is excellent since you can get Bonus and Hidden objectives for each level and since it's so much fun to play, you can play the levels over and over. You should definitely buy Jedi Starfighter. It is absolutely worth the money. I loved it, but then I would love anything with Star Wars in the title! :)

This game blows major wookie pud., July 9, 2002

With all the hype for episode 2 and then the major let down of that film, Jedi Starfighter follows suit. Harry Knowles was right- ep. 2 made ep. 1 LOOK BETTER. However, the same cannot be said of this game and its predecessor Starfighter. They are basically the same game, and with the same cheats- you can play forever without getting dinged- or play with the... Jar-Jar mode. With the original Starfighter selling for 20 bucks, why bother with this?

Like the next installment of the degrded Star Wars series, I am definately NOT looking for the third sequel of this game. On a lighter side, you can unlock all the craft, which include the x-wing and tie fighters, but they are useless vis-à-vis the ones already at hand.

So- if you're looking to dump fifty bucks- here is your game!

I am not a big fan of Star Wars games. I dont read the books, and I have no desire to go beyond the films for anything. I dont really play flight-sims of any kind, so why I bought this game is beyond me.

Having said that, I can say that this game is fun, fast-paced and wickedly addictive. The gameplay is fast and furious, and players need to be aware of the environment and the things going on around them. Many things happen at once and it seems as if you are constantly bombarded with laser fire from every direction.

The controls are easy to master (for both ships)and the gameplay is pretty good, no learning curve required. For those die hard "I-have-to-get-everything" gamers, there are numerous bonus things to unlock. They include everything from extra starcraft, lucasfilm/arts bits, bonus missions and game previews. To get these items, you really have to strive to complete all objectives.

I suppose that my only beef with the game is that it is too short. I suppose if you really wanted to, you could beat this game is 3 or 4 hours...tops. Not to say that it isnt fun, or that the replay value is minimal, but I think that the game could have been a little more detailed and strategically planned.

Most missions have to be completed in under 9 min. They include bonus objectives and hidden objectives as well.

I found that the game started out simply enough, but in later missions, the difficulty level is off the scale. Older, patient players will have the most fun with this game. Those looking for a quick weekend rentable romp through space combat should just give it a rent or two. I suppose this game would appeal to a larger audience if it had been tweaked a bit more, but I find that the average player would get a little lost with the storyline and the characters. Die-hard fans only on this one folks!

This is an awesome Star Wars game!, June 21, 2002

With the release of Attack of the Clones, this video game is perfect for Star Wars fans who want to be part of the adventure. This game features the Jedi Starfighter with its force weapons such as lightning and shock waves, a deadly combination aided by the infamous Nim and his Havoc fighter. The enviroments are immense and range from a massive asteroid field through to sprawling deserts filled with clone troopers. The enemies' artificial intelligence is also impressive and it's difficult to secure a kill with the enemy dodging and weaving while another one is shooting at you from behind.

The story is set just before the events leading up to Episode 2. Jedi masterAlida Gal must track down a mecenary working with the evil Count Dooku. The aim of the game is to stop the mercenary who has strong forces working with him and a secret weapon which is unveiled as the game progresses. You have your trusty starfighter and Nim's group of bandits to help you along the way. The visuals are the best for any Star Wars game, and the amount of detail is very welcome. It's just what Star Wars fans want, and deserve. A really cool feature of the game is when you complete a mission you get to unlock special craft ranging from the X- Wing to the Slave 1. May the force be with you!

this game wasn't exactly what i thought it would be. i didn't really like the disadvantage of not being able to change your view because i really dislike a "cockpit" view and in the game you can't switch. some other things were being forced to use the analog sticks to move and not being able to be more well known characters such as anakin or obi-wan. but i really like the new "force" powers they are so COOL!! overall it was a great game with only a few minor flaws. ... ***May the Force Be With You***

never saw starwars I or II... I just like video games, and I loved this one. I found the storyline fun and the graphics great - the controls were a touch difficult to master, but the training sessions and practice took care of that in no time. fun, fun, fun - you really feel like a character inside a movie
