Everyone in town is jumping into the action, vying for the $99 in prize money. In addition to the Simpsons family, players can select other favorites such as Otto, Professor Fink, Nelson, and Krusty the Clown. Each character brings to the event his or her own tricks, personality, and dialogue, recorded by the actual voice talent from the TV show. The game's five modes include Freeskate, Skate Fest, Trick Contest, Skillz School, and skateboard H-O-R-S-E. The more you skate, the more hidden boards, characters, and levels you unlock. The Simpsons Skateboarding includes single, dual, and head-to-head modes.

From the Manufacturer: Grab your board and a nice piece of asphalt! The Annual Skate Tour has come to Springfield, and the entire town has gone skate crazy on the half-pipes, ramps, and rails. Super skater Bart Simpson is the favorite to win the whopping $$ Mega-bucks $$ prize of $99, but Homer, Krusty, and many of your other favorite Simpsons characters are also going to try and grind, ollie, and kickflip their way to the grand prize. So quit your job, skip class, and get to Springfield!

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!, December 5, 2002

Luckily, I did not buy this game...I only rented it but I would still like my [money] back that I paid to rent this "game".This has to be the worst game EVER to come out for Playstation 2. I wonder if the developers even did a test of this thing before they shipped it out for sale. The graphics are absolutely atrocious. Everything looks flat and one dimensional. Game play is extremely repetitious and way too easy. Please, please, please do not buy this game. To do so would only encourage the developers and manufacturer to come out with "Simpson's Skateboarding II"...heaven forbid.

Bottom line...do not waste your time or money on this turkey.

It's pretty fun., November 16, 2002

I've never played any of the Tony Hawk games because I could care less about SkateBoarding or that genre of games. The only reason I picked it up was because it was a Simpson's title, and I'm not disappointed. Once you get used to the controls, which for all I know are standard in such games, the game's pretty fun.

You start out the game with the basic four characters (Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa), and one environment. There are a few other characters to unlock, and around five more environments to unlock by completing levels and such.

What can I say? The game is solid. Most of the bad reviews I've heard are basing it on previews that they've READ (thus having never played the game), or basing it on Simpson's Wrestling (again, never having played the game). Simpson's Wrestling sucked, yes. Get over it. It was a different team working on the game - it implies nothing about the quality of this game.

Overall - if you like the Simpsons and video games in general, it's a good buy. I don't know how it stacks up against other skateboarding games, but by itself this game is worth buying.

Don't be fooled into believing reviews of people who've never played the game, or judging this game based on Simpon's Wrestling. At leaset rent it and see for yourself.

Simpson Games Really Are Not That Good, November 4, 2002

I am an avid Simpson fan but you really have to come to the truth that Simpson game are really not that good. The graphics aren't that good, they really could be better, and the story line could use a little more effert into it. If they work on the story line like the show that game would be great. Let's face it Simpson Road Rage wasn't really good and Simpson Wrestling was horrible but as a fan i would still buy the game anyway.

Isnt Tony Hawk Pro Skater, but its still good!, September 1, 2002

Ive played this new release by Electronic Arts on my PAL version which came out a few weeks ago, and ive gotta say that its pretty neat.

Im an avid fan of The Simpsons and I was really surprised when I heard that "The Simpsons Skateboarding", was released for the PS2.

Well, you sure get to play all the Simpson charachters, ranging from Bart Simpson, Lisa, Marge, Krusty, Homer and a whole lot more. Each charachter or skater has his/her own unique style, speed, and tricks.

Now about the tracks. Similar to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series, you have to unlock certain tracks aswell as as skateboards etc. However, there are a variety of tracks available to you even if you just want to have some fun!

These include the Simpsons back yard, the sreets of Springfield, The chemical plant and many more.

The sound effects are great aswell. Cars honking in the background, Bart shouting "Oh Curumba", when he falls off his skateboard and lots more!

The controls are great aswell. Skate Boarders are easy to control and menuever. Well you just have to practice a bit and then volla!

About the graphics now. I frankly thought that the Graphics somertimes tend to get a bit blocky. It sometimes feels that youre playing this game on a Playstation, rather than a Playstation2. Well, this really doesnt take the charm of the game away though.

Overall, besides the small graphical errors and glitches, this game is perfect and really really fun to play!!

the only reason its 3 stars is cause i haven't played it yet, August 18, 2002

so far as i have seen in preview versions of this game the graphics look detailed dosn't look to be as horrible as one of those tony hawk clones but i really can't say much about it because i haven't played it yet.
